Viticulturist Profile.

Cobus van Schalkwyk grew up on a farm just outside Piketberg. It was here that he  had his first encounter with production of high quality fruit and grapes under the supervision of his father.

Cobus went to school at Piketberg High School, where he matriculated in 2002.  Afterwards he went to the University of Stellenbosch, where he began his studies in Viticulture and Oenology. By 2006 he had completed B Sc. Agric K(Viticulture and Oenology).

Cobus started working at Simonsvlei in December 2007 and is currently preparing to conduct  his 3rd harvest at Simonsvlei International.
